College Savings Planner
Objective
Design a savings calculator to help parents and students plan how much they should be saving each month for college.
Result
Intuitive and encouraging of experimentation, the tool clearly demonstrates how the finances are affected by variables.
The user enters their age, the cost of one year tuition, and what percentage they’d like to pay for. They can also include any money already saved. The savings are entered into a interest-earning 529 plan and are calculated until the age of 18. Adjustment bars make it easy to play around with different combinations of numbers.
